New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick wants more money. In fact, he's so serious that he claims he would "rather not play football" than accept the Jets' offer.

According to ESPN, the organization is offering him about $8 million a season. While that may sound like a great deal to us, eight million a year is considerably far less than what other starting quarterbacks are making. Some, like the unproven Blake Osweiler, who recently signed a huge deal with Houston, are making about $18 million a year.

Fitzpatrick, who lead the Jets to a 10-6 record in 2015, is looking for at least $16 million a year.

The 33 year-old Fitzpatrick seems to have the support of not only the players, but the Jets front office.

A deal could be soon. But would Fitzpatrick really retire instead?

If that were the case then the Jets would have to go with either Geno Smith, Bryce Petty, or a draft pick. Of course, he's more than likely calling their bluff.
