A brand new tasting room is opening this weekend, just in time for beer travelers who are looking to plan some cool Hudson Valley day trips.

Josh Hughes from Roscoe Beer Company stopped by this week to share the big news about their new 1,600-square-foot tasting room. Luckily for us, he also shared some samples of Rainbow Red Ale. It's an India-style red ale, which is very unique style. Rainbow Red has all of the maltiness of a classic red ale, but also some pronounced bitterness from the generous use of Cascade and Centennial hops.

The bigger malt content lends itself to a higher ABV of about 7.5%. Because the beer is so well balanced, the alcohol is not as pronounced as it is in other high ABV beers. Rainbow Red an easy drinking beer with a big punch, so beware.

Josh is very excited about the expansion of the Roscoe Beer Company and invites everyone to stop by and sample some of their beers while visiting the Catskills. The new tasting room opens this weekend with a huge celebration that includes live music, food and even a visit by the Boris & Robyn Show on Friday from 4pm to 6pm.

Congratulations to Josh and everyone at Roscoe Beer. We look forward to visiting and trying out more of your Trout Town creations.
