The most popular coffee drink in Australia finally makes it's way to the states. The Flat White will be available at all Starbucks locations starting on Tuesday.

Some of you may be wondering what a Flat White is. Well, according to Starbucks it's described as:

Expertly steamed whole milk poured over two shots of espresso, topped with microfoam swirled into beautiful latte art.

Ok, now some may say that this sounds just like a latte... and it kind of is, but with one big difference. Australian barista, Levi Hamilton, tells the Sydney Morning Herald that it's all about the foam:

The real difference is the amount of froth on top. Cappuccino actually translates to 'cap of foam', so it has the most amount of foam... Flat white has 1.5 millimetres of froth on top, so it's nice and flat.

Still confused and don't want to look like a noob ordering one at Starbucks? The Karajoz Coffee staff from one of New Zealand's favorite coffee shops shows you exactly how one's made in this video. So sit back, watch and order one with confidence next time you head out on a Starbucks run.
