The Best Beers in New York: 2016 TAP-NY Winners

Some Hudson Valley breweries walked away with several medals at this year's TAP-NY festival in Hunter NY.

The two-day beer festival showcases brewers from all over New York State. Participants are treated to samples of their finest brews as well as an abundance of food. This year's culinary theme was the Great American Burger, which included some exotic toppings and interesting twists on the classic burger.

As for the beer, three cups were handed out to the best of the best, including the Matthew Vassar cup for best brewery in the Hudson Valley. That award went to Crossroads Brewing in Athens. The F.X. Matt Memorial Cup for best brewery in the state went to Big Ditch Brewing Company in Buffalo. And the Governor's Brewers' Cup, which recognizes the best individual beer at the festival, was won by the Union Station Belgian Quad brewed at the Albany Pump Station.
