You've probably seen at least one of these local businesses or locations while traveling through the Hudson Valley and wondered "what where they thinking?"

While some of these places may have been named on purpose, we're pretty sure that others were by accident. Perhaps these business owners don't have as much of a dirty mind as we do, or maybe they just never got around to actually saying the name of their business out loud before ordering the sign.

Regardless, we're sure that these are great local places that are run by really nice people. Hopefully they also have a good sense of humor since we just can't help but snicker whenever we drive by.

How many of these places made you do a double take the first time you saw them?

Hoe Bowl

This bowling alley was most likely named as a play on words for a friendly "hobo" as depicted in some of the artwork around the building. Sadly, we're just too immature to imagine anything other than some "ladies of the night" buffing those balls.

Hooker Avenue

If you're looking for someone to take bowling that charges by the hour, it would be reasonable to assume they might be found on Hooker Ave. Thankfully, we did some digging and found out that not everyone on this street is an actual prostitute.

Bad Ass Coffee

Sure, there are lots of pictures of donkeys in this popular coffee shop, and a neat story on the wall about how these "asses" used to carry coffee beans around Hawaii. But you're not fooling us. We see what you did with your name and have to admit it's pretty funny.

Yeung Ho

What is it with the prostitutes in the Hudson Valley? In all seriousness, I'm probably just being an ignorant American by pronouncing this "young ho."  Honestly, we tried to find a proper English translation for the name of this popular Chinese restaurant and just couldn't, so this one is going in the "maybe on purpose" pile. Speaking of...

The Best Little Hairhouse

We're pretty sure this play-on-words is a nod to the film "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." Who wants to think about walking into a whorehouse when getting their hair done? I guess plenty of people. There's a "Hairhouse" in Monroe and one in Hyde Park too.

Happy Hours Children Center

Wait, they named a daycare center after the part of the day where you get half-off drink specials? Yup, they sure did.

Coxsackie

They keep insisting that it's pronounced "Cook-SOCK-e" but we know how it's really said.

Did we forget any inappropriately named places in the Hudson Valley? If there's someplace that you can't help but lol at when driving past you're probably just as immature as we are, so please share.

Oh, and here's just one more:
