Police in Victoria, Texas are investigating a police officer for using a taser on a 76-year old man, while trying to arrest him for an expired inspection sticker.

Officer Nathaniel Robinson approached Pete Vasquez about the sticker, and attempted to arrest him over it.

When The officer tried to grab Vasquez's arm, he pull away. the officer then slammed the 76-year old against the hood, and wrestled him to the ground where he used his taser twice, according to police.

Vasquez was driving a car owned by the dealership at which he worked. The car still had dealer tags, which exempted the car from exemption, according to police.

Victoria Police on the scene after the tasing, and took Vasquez to the hospital and did not cite him for the inspection sticker.

The Victoria Police Chief said "Public trust is extremely important to us". "Sometimes that means you have to take a real hard look at some of the actions that occur within the department."
