A 13-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after falling over 60 feet from a cliff while out hiking with his father, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. The Tivoli Fire Dept said the boy fell straight down the cliff and into a ravine that runs alongside a stream near Kidd Lane in Tivoli Bays. Amazingly, the boy suffered no major injuries. Tivoli Fire Department Chief Marc Hildenbrand said "It was an extensive recovery" The teenager was put on a stretcher, which emergency response workers walked "up the embankment, while others lifted the stretcher from the cliff ledge with ropes"

He was then taken to the hospital by Northern Dutchess Paramedics and is expected to make a full recovery.
