Teen Arrested Following Shooting and Robbery in Newburgh

A Newburgh teenager is in handcuffs following a shooting and robbery in the City of Newburgh.

On Thursday, City of Newburgh Police arrested a 16-year-old Newburgh resident in connection of an armed robbery and shooting on March 27, 2016 in the area of 42 Fullerton Avenue.

The name of the suspect is not being released because of his age. The 16-year-old boy was charged with 1st-degree assault, two counts of 1st-degree robbery, and 2nd-degree robbery, all felonies.

The victim, a 23-year-old Newburgh resident, was shot in the shoulder area. He was taken to St. Lukes Hospital. He’s injuries are non-life threatening. Officials are not releasing his name.

Authorities say the gun used has not be recovered. Anyone with information is urged to contact City of Newburgh Police at 845-561-3131
