Correction officers say they found dangerous contraband after doing a routine search of a civilian teacher at a local prison.

Russell Kalney is an instructor at Greene Correctional Facility in Coxsackie and is alleged to have been found with a metal fork and four coping saw blades while entering the prison on Wednesday.

News 10 says that state police were alerted about the 34-year-old Ravena man after correction officers found the items during a routine search. Kalney is being charged with promoting prison contraband in the first degree and is being held on $1,200 bail or $5,000 bond at the Greene County Jail.
