Tappan Zee Bridge Closed After Crane Collapse

CBS New York is reporting that all traffic is closed on the Tappan Zee Bridge Tuesday afternoon after a crane collapsed.

New York's traffic information portal, 511ny.org confirmed all lanes of I-87 were blocked as of 12:04PM following an accident. 511NY.org traffic cameras were turned off to public viewing following the accident, but an image from the I-87 Interchange 11 near Route 9W shows a significant traffic backup.

Rockland County's official Twitter account confirmed the crane collapse and said no injuries were reported at that time.

It is currently unknown what caused the collapse.
