Gregg Allman, the smoky-voiced B-3-playing Southern rock legend who soldiered on after his sibling's motorcycle crash nearly derailed the Allman Brothers Band, has died.

Gregg Allman has canceled all of his scheduled 2017 concerts.

Today (Dec. 8) marks what would have been Doors frontman Jim Morrison’s 73rd birthday. Other rock birthdays today include Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen (59), former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman (54), and Gregg Allman (69).
