Happy Birthday today (May 29) to Noel Gallagher. The singer/guitarist for the band Oasis (1991-2009) is 49. Other rockers celebrating include guitarist Chan Kinchla of Blues Traveler (47) and Melissa Etheridge (55).

Oasis released their debut album Definitely Maybe to much critical acclaim in 1994. They followed that up the next year with 1995's (What's the story) Morning Glory? which was the band's most commercially successful release. The album sold 347,000 copies it's first week of release landing at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard 200. Singles included "Wonderwall", "Don't Look Back in Anger", and "Champagne Supernova". During the height of success, the Gallagher Brother (Noel and Liam) were regularly featured in the tabloids and became notorious for their sibling rivalry and wild lifestyles. The band released their third album Be Here Now in 1997 and it became the fastest-selling album in U.K. chart history eventually selling 8 million copies. Four more albums followed before the band split up in 2009.
