This weekend is the unofficial start of summer, but 80 degree temperatures are only days away.

It's been a pretty cold and cloudy spring in the Hudson Valley. For some, it's a little price to pay for having such a mild winter. For others, the wait for summer temperatures and sunshine has been unbearable.

This week we should finally see some summer-like weather throughout the Hudson Valley, but will the warming trend last through Memorial Day Weekend?

The National Weather Service is calling for some showers on Tuesday that will give way to sunny skies on Wednesday with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Those temperatures should stay in 80s and upper 70s throughout the rest of the week.

Memorial Day weekend is looking warm, with temperatures remaining in the low 80s and upper 70s through Monday. A threat of thunderstorms on Saturday and showers on Memorial Day, however, may put a damper on outdoor plans. As of now, Sunday looks like your best bet with temperatures in the mid 80s and little chance of rain. Although mostly cloudy skies may not be ideal.
