Police were called to a report of a possible gunman on the Indiana University Southeast campus in New Albany, IN. A student believed he had seen a man on campus with a gun sticking out of their backpack. IU Southeast Police Department felt their was cause for concern and placed the campus on lockdown at 12:50pm.

University spokeswoman Kendra Barnes says

They were able to ask that student a couple of questions and verify that he did indeed see something worth pursuing. It very well could have been mistaken [for a weapon]

Police then initiated protocol by ordering a lockdown via the university’s emergency notification system, IU Notify, that sent out text messages, voicemails, emails and updated social media and the website’s homepage.

As it turns out, it was just a big umbrella. The all clear was given at 2pm that day. Well, we guess in today's world you have to be careful.
