While investigating a terrible odor in the kitchen we uncovered something so gruesome and disgusting that we may never eat again.

Because of the many events and promotions our radio station hosts, we always seem to be surrounded by delicious food. On any given day our coworkers feast on all sorts of culinary creations from gourmet pizza to ribs to full-on catered meals. And of course, there's always an assortment of mouth-watering desserts to go around as well.

We get to enjoy so much food that sometimes it's hard to keep track of it all. And that's what seems to have happened over the summer; setting the scene for one of the most disturbing refrigerator finds in recent history.

After weeks of enduring a mysterious odor coming from kitchen I knew it was time for someone to finally investigate. Everything in our fridge seemed to be in order until I noticed a large, white plastic bag in the crisper. Opening the drawer immediately released a noxious odor that completely filled the office. What we uncovered was horrifying, and will haunt our nightmares forever:

This former food was so badly rotten and covered with mold that it was hard to even identify. Was it a bag of old muffins? Some sort of fried eggplant? Maybe clumps of old birthday cake? After questioning the few co-workers who were brave enough to even look at this horrifying find, we finally came to a conclusion; the remains are decomposed fried chicken.

This chicken was leftover from a radio station river cruise back in July. Someone on staff brought the chicken back to the station in a plastic bag, complete with serving tongs, and forgot about it for a month and a half.

Who knows? Perhaps there are new life forms lurking in this putrid specimen. Or maybe a cure for a disease that's yet to be discovered. Of course, this vomit-inducing find could also lead to the creation of a new chemical weapon that may someday wipe out the entire globe.

By the smell of it I'm going with the latter.

We have to ask: Have you ever made a gruesome discovery in your own work fridge? What's the most disgusting thing you've ever found?
