Sting becomes the latest rock star to join the lights on Broadway, providing the score for a new play called “The Last Ship”.   According to Sting’s website, the new musical will feature music and lyrics by 16-time Grammy Award-winner Sting and book by Tony Award-winner John Logan and Pulitzer Prize-winner Brian Yorkey . The show will begin previews on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre  on September 29, prior to opening night on October 26. Produced by Jeffrey Seller and Kathryn Schenker, THE LAST SHIP is directed by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello and choreographed by Olivier Award-winner and Tony Award-nominee Steven Hoggett. The 2014 Tony Awards will broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, on CBS, on Sunday, June 8th 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. and are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. Sting will perform a song from his upcoming musical during the broadcast.
