The New York Air Show has announced the event will feature the famous Blue Angels in the summer of 2017. Along with a new headliner, a date change is in store as well. Saturday July 1st and Sunday July 2nd, these majestic planes will be featured at Stewart Airport in Newburgh.

The Blue Angels began flying in 1946 and according to their website, the team is stationed at Forrest Sherman Field, Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida for the season. To prepare for their acrobatic maneuvers, their training is conducted each January through March in El Centro California.

Their official name is the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron. The team consists of six F/A-18 Hornet jets and at times fly as close as three feet apart in certain formations.

Tickets are on sale now and and purchasing in advance will save you a good deal of money if you plan to attend.
