New York State Police are requesting help from Hudson Valley residents who may have any leads regarding a recent armed robbery at a Sunoco station.

On Monday around 11:50 a.m., troopers were dispatched by Columbia County 911 to investigate a reported robbery at the Sunoco Station located at 12737 State Route 22 in Canaan. The victim reported to police that he saw two male subjects behind the gas station. Knowing that they should not have been behind the store, he confronted the two males. The suspects struck the victim, knocked him to the ground, and demanded money from the victim at gunpoint. The suspects are believed to have fled the area on foot.

Police say the suspects were seen wearing dark colored clothing and winter caps. State Police Aviation and canines checked the surrounding area searching for the suspects who were not located.

The victim was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators from the Livingston barracks by calling (845) 677-7300.
