Star Wars Event to Benefit the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie

Star Wars nuts are going to want to mark December 12 on their calendars as fans, droids and characters from the famed movie get together in Poughkeepsie for a great cause.

The Boris & Robyn Show will be hosting a special gift drive for the Children's Home of Poughkeepsie on Saturday December 12 from Noon to 3pm. Everyone is invited to this special "Star Wars" event at center court in the Poughkeepsie Galleria. There will be Star Wars giveaways, costumed appearances by members if the 501st Legion dressed as characters from the Star Wars universe and even a children's costume contest hosted by Hudson Valley Parent Magazine. R2-D2 and other droids from Hudson Valley Comic-Con will also be in attendance.

Participants are asked to simply bring a gift for kids living at the Children's Home in Poughkeepsie. Toys are welcome, but presents for older kids such as gift cards are also much appreciated.

Tickets to see "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will be given away at the event, as well as mall gift certificates and other prizes. Stay tuned to The Boris & Robyn Show on 101.5 WPDH for more details.
