A Nashville area country singer named Wayne Mills was shot and killed by Chris Farrell, owner of an establishment known as Pit and Barrel, after the two men got in to a fight concerning Mills smoking cigarettes inside the bar. An investigation is pending, but Farrell is claiming he acted in self defense. Mills is well known in the area and even helped country chart topper Blake Shelton get one of his first big breaks.

An episode of Spike TV's Bar Rescue had been previously filmed at the Pit and Barrel and was set to air shortly after the shooting had taken place. Upon hearing the news, the network pulled the episode set to air at 10pm on Sunday. There was one catch though...the network forgot to pull the late night replay. This has led the network to issue this official statement and apology

You want to save your failing bar? Well, shooting your customers is not a good way to turn things around.
