Today (Oct. 14) marks the 30th anniversary of the Iron Maiden double album ‘Live After Death’. We will feature tracks from this album today at 6:35pm.

Iron Maiden’s live album was released in the U.S. on Oct. 14, 1985. It was recorded at Long Beach Arena, California and Hammersmith Odeon, London during the band's World Slavery Tour. Iron Maiden's World Slavery Tour began in Warsaw, Poland Aug. 9 1984 and lasted 331 days. The band performed 187 concerts over that time. The tour was tied into the band's 1984 album 'Powerslave', so the stage show featured an Egyptian theme with mummified representations of the band's mascot Eddie, along with pyrotechnics. The tour would become one of Iron Maiden's most acclaimed tours resulting in their first double album and concert video.

I have vivid memories as a young kid, going through my older brother's record collection and throwing 'Live After Death' on the turntable. I'd sit in my room for endless hours cranking this masterpiece of a live album!
