Today (Oct. 1) marks the 25th anniversary of the Iron Maiden album ‘No Prayer for the Dying’. We will feature tracks from this album today at 6:35pm.

Iron Maiden's eighth studio album, it was released on Epic Records in the U.S. on Oct. 1, 1990. It marked the band's first lineup change since 1982 with guitarist Adrian Smith leaving during production, unhappy with the musical direction. He was replaced by Janick Gers. Gers had worked with Bruce Dickinson on his first solo album, 'Tattooed Millionaire'. 'No Prayer for the Dying' featured a more 'stripped down', straightforward style, similar to early recordings. The band decided to get away from the keyboard and synthesizer driven sound of it's two previous albums 'Somewhere in Time' and 'Seventh son of a Seventh Son'.

'No Prayer for the Dying' received generally mixed and negative reviews. The album went gold in the U.S. and features the single 'Bring Your Daughter...to the Slaughter'.
