Increased security and safety measures will be put in place at Saratoga Performing Arts Center this Summer.

According to the Saratogian, several security upgrades will be happening at SPAC with the partnership of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. A week-long active shooter training exercise took place on the venue grounds earlier this month with the New York State Park Police and Saratoga Springs Police Department to prepare for emergency response in the event that an active shooter situation had occured. In addition to the training exercises, new barriers are going to be installed at all entrance gates to protect pedestrians from vehicular traffic. SPAC President and CEO Elizabeth Sobol said, "Thanks to our collaboration with local police agencies and our partners at state parks, we have taken additional security measures in advance of this year's concert season. Our audiences cherish the many experiences that they share on our grounds. Our goal is to ensure that we are creating the safest space possible for our guests who attend our world-class classical performances and pop and rock concerts."

Seem like a great thing that SPAC is doing. What are your thoughts on the increased safety measures going into place. Will it make you feel safer when attending concerts this summer?
