Could it be?

With temperatures dipping into the upper 20s tonight, forecasters are saying the area could see a light coating of slush by the Thursday morning commute.

Areas north of Putnam County could see a mix of rain and wet snow as a cold front is expected to move into the Hudson Valley. Some of the higher elevations in Ulster County and the Catskills could actually see 2 to 4 inches of snow by late morning Thursday.

Parts of Ulster and Greene counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory, so just watch for accumulation on the roads.

Thursday's forecast is calling for snow changing over to a heavy rain for most of the area. This will finally bring some much needed rain to the drought stricken region.

Some of the mountains in New York saw snow over the weekend, so while it may seem a bit early to talk about snow, it isn't all that unusual this time of year.

Of course, we remember the Nor'easter of October 2011. That storm left over 20 inches of snow in some areas and caused massive power outages all over the Northeast.

That storm certainly ruined a lot of peoples' Halloween plans that year.

This storm, however, will be nothing like that.
