Snow was seen falling from the sky in Poughkeepsie and other surrounding areas today.

Just as we started settling into Fall, parts of the Hudson Valley were hit with a startling reminder of what's still to come: snow. Just after 11:30am large snow-like pellets of sleet rained down on our area, briefly coating roadways and sidewalks. At 12:45pm another snow squall was seen blowing right through Poughkeepsie.

Those who saw the snow immediately took to social media to show their displeasure.

The National Weather Service was calling for a 20% chance of Isolated showers before 1pm. Otherwise, partly sunny skies with a high of only 47. Although the brief snow shower wasn't in the forecast, it's not very uncommon for this time of year, especially when temperatures are so low.

There isn't much chance of another snow surprise any time soon. Monday's weather is expected to be dry with temperatures in the 50s. Although, those heading out early tomorrow morning may want to dress in layers, the morning low is expected to be in the mid 20s.

Did you see any snow today? If so, we'd love to see your pictures. You can share them on our Facebook page.
