Sam Simon has died. The co-creator of The Simpsons passed away at the age of 59 after a battle with colon cancer according to reports. Simon, an Emmy winner had also written for classic tv show Taxi and Cheers.

He was initially given 3-6 months to live when diagnosed with colon cancer back in 2012. He immediately decided to give away his huge Hollywood fortune to animals and those in need.
