Simpsons Co-Creator Sam Simon Dead at 59

Sam Simon has died. The co-creator of The Simpsons passed away at the age of 59 after a battle with colon cancer according to reports. Simon, an Emmy winner had also written for classic tv show Taxi and Cheers.

He was initially given 3-6 months to live when diagnosed with colon cancer back in 2012. He immediately decided to give away his huge Hollywood fortune to animals and those in need. Maria Shriver and NBC news sat down with Simon last year. Check out the moving interview here. R.I.P. to a great man.
