WPDH is hosting a pet costume contest to benefit Pets Alive Animal Sanctuary on October 24. Just bring out your pet for free stuff and all sorts of fun.

What: The WPDH Pet Costume Contest to benefit Pet's Alive Animal Sanctuary
Where: Petco on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie
When: October 24 from Noon to 3pm
How: Just stop by. All animal participants in costume will get a free Halloween goodie bag filled with treats and more surprises.

The Boris & Robyn Show will be hosting the contest between Noon and 3pm on Saturday, October 24. You can bring you pet anytime during the event to get their photo taken on the Halloween runway. Photos will be posted at wpdh.com where listeners can vote on their favorite costumes. Grand prizes will be handed out for the winning costumes, including a pet spa package and even a flat-screen TV.

WPDH, along with our partners Newburgh Veterinary Hospital and T.E.G. Federal Credit Union encourage all participants to make a donation to Pets Alive Animal Sanctuary at the event. Here is a list of suggested items that are in short supply at the shelter. Cash donations of whatever you can afford will also be accepted.

Caretaking Supplies and Needs:
• 3-lb paper trays
• Dog collars - all sizes
• Slip leads
• Cat litter (especially Feline Pine)
• Dry and canned dog food (Purina is our preferred brand.) • Dry Cat food (Friskies is our preferred brand)
• Any canned cat food
• Dog Toys
• Anti-pull harnesses, medium or large

Cleaning Supplies:
• Paper towels
• Laundry detergent, Liquid fabric softener • Brooms, Cleaning supplies
• Kitchen garbage bags with drawstring
• Liquid Hand Soap
• Extra large black garden garbage bags
• Murphy's oil soap
• Bleach
• Libmann wonder mop mopheads
