Should this child’s shirt be against school policy?

California middle schooler Tony Burnett Jr. was excited to wear a souvenir sweatshirt to school that he picked up on a family vacation to Northern California.  But when school administrators saw it, they told him to turn it inside out.  You see, the shirt said “I [heart] Weed! California.”  Yes, Weed is an actual town in CA.  Tony eventually left school early that day because of the controversy.

Now, one could argue that even though Weed, CA is a real place, the shirt is obviously referencing pot… especially since the “heart” is green and the exclamation point is right after the word WEED, not California.  Watch the video below and then take our poll and let us know what you think!
