If you go to an Afroman concert, you might not want to jump up on stage. Afroman apparently doesn't like it very much.

The "Because I Got High" singer was arrested after police say he assaulted a female fan at a concert in Biloxi, Mississippi. A YouTube video clearly shows Afroman playing guitar while a young, female fan dances behind him. As she gets closer, the musician swings around and punches her. Hard.

After the punch, the woman remains on the ground for some time before getting up and looking dazed. A male audience member eventually jumps on stage and escorts the young woman away.

CNN reports that a representative for Afroman claims that poor security at the venue was to blame. He says in a statement,

This was a completely involuntary reflex reaction to people infringing on his stage space... It was uncharacteristic behavior that was initiated by outside uncontrolled forces.

Whatever forces were at work, we think it's safe to say that Afroman won't be using the "Because I Got High" defense.

Afroman, also known as Joseph Edgar Foreman, was released from custody after posting a $300 bond.
