Shocking video of teacher wrestling student to ground

A teacher in a California school is on administrative leave after wrestling one of his students to the ground and pinning him.

According to the LA Times, students and their parents have come to the teacher's defense, insisting that he was doing the right thing and restraining a student over an issue with drugs.

So what do you think?  Is there any situation where it's OK for a teacher to restrain a student like this?  Should he just have called 911 if there was a real drug issue he was dealing with?  Let us know what you think.
