After two days of unusually warm weather, the reality of February weather in New York is about to return after a cold front moves through the area this evening.

Northwestern Sullivan County has already been under a tornado warning this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Thankfully, no funnel cloud touched down, and the warning has been allowed to expire, but the wind is still an issue and Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, and Orange counties are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9 pm tonight.

We can expect scattered showers and thunderstorms as this front moves through. According to the National Weather Service, some of these storms could become severe quickly and produce isolated wind gusts up to 50 mph along with the potential for small hail.

Once the front moves through, temperatures will drop down into the low 30's overnight with temperatures in the low 40's forecast for tomorrow, but wind chill values will be between 20 and 30.

We will continue to watch this throughout the evening, and give updates when necessary.
