The severe weather that impacted parts of the Midwest and Great Lakes regions Monday will move through New York state and New England Tuesday. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 4PM for most of the area.

Severe storms having already been reported across parts of Western and Central New York, as well  as in Ulster County and Connecticut early Tuesday morning.

Large hail, torrential rain, and gusty winds are expected across the region on Tuesday. Winds gusts up 122 mph were recorded Monday in the Midwest. The heat and humidity across the Northeast will push thunderstorm development throughout the afternoon.

There is also always an outside chance of a tornado developing with little to no warning. pleas keep an eye on the skies today Hudson Valley!
