Communities throughout the Hudson Valley will be holding memorial events throughout the day on Friday.

The Poughkeepsie Journal, LoHud and the Times Herald Record have been compiling lists of events that are happening on September 11. Here is a sampling of some that will be happening throughout the Hudson Valley:

  • Campbell Hall - 6pm at Thomas Bull Memorial Park in the Orange County Arboretum
  • Carmel - Candelite vigil at 8pm near the Putnam Heroes Memorial Monument in Cornerstone Park
  • Chester - 6:30 pm at Community Park on Vadala Lane
  • Ellenville - 6:30 pm at the Hunt Memorial Building near Liberty Square
  • Fishkill - 8:30am in the Village of Fishkill.
  • Highland - 6pm at the 9/11 bench near the Chadeayne Traffic Circle
  • Hyde Park - at 7pm there will be a candlelight vigil in Hackett Hill Park with music by the Amerscots Highland Pipe Band.
  • Kingston - 8:30 am at Firemen's Park on Washington Avenue
  • LaGrange - 8:30am Stringham Park
  • New Paltz - at 4pm there will be a groundbreaking for the new 9/11 memorial at Fire Station No. 2.
  • Saugerties - 7:30pm at Cantine Field.
  • Wappingers Falls - 8:30am at Sgt. Mark Palmateer 9/11 Memorial Park on Route 9 at Old Hopewell Rd.
  • Village of Wappingers - 6:30pm at Mesier Park.
