A group of young women smile and pose for a group photo in front of the flaming ruins of the East Village building that exploded on Thursday, sparking outrage online.

The fire erupted after a massive building explosion on 2nd avenue and 7th Street on Thursday, injuring dozens and leaving at least two people unaccounted for.

While emergency personnel and good Samaritans ran to the victims' rescue, others saw it as an opportunity to take a memorable selfie.

A group of young women landed themselves on the cover of the New York Post after someone tweeted a picture of them posing in front of the tragic accident.

After the photo was posted on Twitter, reaction was immediate. @liberationnyc tweeted "Everything that's wrong with NYC summed up in one photo." @Brookewellford said "I just threw up in my mouth and simultaneously wished for a sterilization shot for each of those idiots."

We want to know what you think. Were these young women being disrespectful or is there some justification for their actions?
