It may look like a shark, but it really the new surveillance equipment, designed by the Navy. The Navy is currently testing a brand new underwater drone, that is designed to look like a shark, and it will conduct surveillance work.

The drone is called "Ghostswimmer", and it is 5-feet long and weighs about 100 pounds. The drone can operate in 10 inches of water, and up to 300 feet. the drone is designed to operate autonomously for long periods of time.

This is part of the Rapid Innovation Cell (CRIC) project, Slient Nemo, located in Norfolk, VA.

So be very careful next time you yell "Shark!" at the beach, it may just be the Navy Testing some equipment.
