If you travel on Route 199 in the town of Milan or Pine Plains in Dutchess County, be prepared for some delays beginning next Friday, October 30. According to The Poughkeepsie Journal, the state plans on closing the stretch of 199 between Wilbur Flats Road in Milan and Hicks Hill Road in Pine Plains.

The closures are necessary so that crews can complete construction projects on this stretch of road. There will be detours available via Milan Hill Road (County Route 54), Turkey Hill Road (County Route 56) and Jackson Corners Road (County Route 50), according to The Poughkeepsie Journal.

You should expect delays starting Friday, October 30 at 10 pm until Monday, November 9 at 6 am. As with any construction site and work zone area, please be mindful as you drive through in regards to the men and women working on the road. Reduce your speed and please don't text and drive.
