Hall & Oates are suing an oatmeal company to stop them from capitalizing on the famous duo's name.

Whole Oats Enterprises, owned by Hall and Oates, announced that they are filing a lawsuit against Early Bird Foods in Brooklyn.  The suit is trying to stop Early Bird from selling what they call "Haulin’ Oats granola".

Jonathan Wolfson, the manager for Hall and Oates told the Poughkeepsie Journal that Whole Oats Enterprises owns the trademark for "Haulin’ Oats."

When asked by the Journal about the lawsuit, Nekisia Davis, the owner of Early Bird Foods said:

My only comment is 'say it isn’t so'.

Well played, Davis. Well played.

Although we do love your use of Hall & Oates lyrics, I'm sorry to say that "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" when it comes to ripping off our hometown boy, Daryl Hall. Although it's possible that you're "Out of Touch" with copyright law, and you simply just want to become a "Rich Girl" by selling a clever product, that probably won't stop some "Private Eyes" from serving you some paperwork. Our only suggestion is to watch out... because it looks like more than your "kiss" has made Hall & Oates list. Be prepared to go "One On One" in court.
