Update: Dustin Diamond Must Stand Trial For Dec. 25 Stabbing, Judge Rules

UPDATE:

A Wisconsin Judge has ruled that Dustin Diamond must stand trial for a stabbing that took place on Christmas day.

Diamond is charged with reckless endangerment and 2 other charges that took place during the incident.

After hearing the officer's testimony, they decided that there was enough edividence to move forward to trial.

The victim, was not seriously injured.

Dustin Diamond, better known as "Screech" from the 90's sitcom 'Saved By The Bell", was arrested on Friday in a stabbing incident at a bar in Wisconsin.

Diamond, 37, who lives in Port Washington, Wisconsin was charged with three misdemeanors: 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety: carrying a concealed weapon; and disorderly conduct, use of a dangerous weapon, according to police.

He was being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.

The stabbing apparently took place during an argument.

According to an arrest report, Diamond stated that he and his girlfriend were at the bar and a group of intoxicated people started behaving in a rude and insulting manner. Diamond believed that there was going to be a brawl.

According to Diamond, he went to close out his account, and grab their coats. When he turned around his girlfriend was bleeding and two men were holding her hair. As he moved toward his girlfriend a man grabbed him and he might have stabbed him with a pen used to sign the credit card receipt, but later conceded that he was armed with with a knife.

He said he did not intentionally stab anybody, but as the chaos broke out, people were grabbing at him and he swung his arms to get free.

Diamond and his girlfriend drove away from the bar but were stopped by police and they found a "stiletto folding knife with a 3.75-inch blade, which uses a thumb stud and assisted opening mechanism." according to police the knife was moist.

The stabbing victim said he never saw a knife, and the wound was not life threatening.
