It's a tragic story of a young man lost way to soon.

Mt Marion firefighter Captain Jack Rose died doing what he loved, fighting a fire and the area in which he defended is set to honor the fallen hero on Monday.

The town and Village of Saugerties has announced that all Village and town offices will be closed Monday in honor of the fallen firefighter.

According to the Daily Freeman, Saugerties Mayor William Murphy has said that,

It just makes sense for us to shut down. So if guys want to attend the funeral, they don’t have to come into work.

Mayor Williams also told the Freeman that the services are expected to attract firefighters from throughout the region.

The wake for Rose will start on Sunday at the Seamon Wilsey Funeral Home at 45 John Street in Saugerties. The visitations will be between 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. The funeral services will be Monday starting at Noon at the St Johns Church on Route 212 in Saugerties.
