Local Hudson Valley team the Saugerties Stallions are publicly calling out the New York Yankees, all in the name of charity of course. Kevin Hinchey, the owner  and president of the Saugerties Stallions, has proposed that his team play the New York Yankees in an exhibition game, with $100,000 going to a charity of the team's choosing.

Hinchey is so committed to the event and to his team that he has sent a certified letter to Yankees owner, Hal Steinbrenner proposing the event. If the NY Yankees win the exhibition game, the Stallions would donate the money to a charity of the teams choosing. If the Stallions win the game, the monies would be donated to the National Cancer Society and to St Jude's Children's Hospital.

When asked why he wants to put his team up against the World Champion NY Yankees, Mr Hinchey said, via press release:

“I think Mr. Steinbrenner should see this team for himself. I know he will be impressed, and I am willing to donate a lot of money to whatever charity he wants - if his team wins. If our team wins, we will still donate the money to The National Cancer Society and St. Jude’s Children Hospital."

It has been proposed that the game could be held either in Saugerties or at Yankee Stadium.
