Guitarist and founding member of the Allman Brothers Band Dickey Betts celebrates a birthday today (Dec. 12). He’s 72. Also celebrating is original Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker (69).

Betts is recognized as one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time ranking on Rolling Stone magazine's "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" list. He also won a Grammy Award with the Allman Brothers Band for the song Jessica in the Best Rock Performance category and helped introduce the twin guitar harmony through his guitar partnership with Duane Allman. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with The Allman Brothers in 1995 and won a Grammy Award with the band for a performance of the song "Jessica" in the Best Rock Performance category in 1996. He was let go from The Allman Brothers in 2000.
