Happy Birthday today (April 21) to rocker Iggy Pop. He’s 71.

Iggy Pop was the leader of the The Stooges who were first active between 1967 and 1974. They later reunited in 2003 and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. The Stooges were influential in the rise of punk rock, along with rock music in general. They ranked number 74 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 100 greatest artists of all time. Some well-known Iggy Pop tunes include “Lust For Life”, “Real Wild Child (Wild One)”, “Candy” (a duet with Kate Pierson of the B-52’s), “China Girl”, “Search and Destroy”, and “I Wanna Be Your Dog”. A biopic of Pop’s early career with the Stooges was in the works but was shelved as of 2010. He released his seventeenth studio album Post Pop Depression in 2016.

You gotta love Iggy Pop. The man is a punk rock legend! Cheers to this true rocker on his birthday today. Check out the video for Iggy Pop's “Lust For Life” below
