Santa Makes Boy Weep After Telling Him to Lay Off the Burger and Fries

Talk about Bad Santa!

It was supposed to be a fun family occasion when 9 year-old Anthony Mayse of Rutherfordton, NC went to visit Santa Claus at a nearby event Saturday.

When Mayse finally got a chance to meet Old Saint Nick in person, and ask him for that iPod Touch and drone he so wanted for Christmas, Santa had some unwanted advice of his own to the young boy.

Mayse told WLOS TV

When he got done, he said, ‘Lay off the hamburgers and french fries', and that really just disrespected me, and I felt awful.

Mayse's mother was quite upset. She told the TV station that she wishes they never went to the event. She said she had never seen anything like it.

Anthony later tore up the photo of him with Santa that was taken right before the remark. He may never want to visit Santa again after something like this. Mayse said that Father Christmas apologized to him, his mother, and the town supervisor after he and his mother complained, but that the apology seemed insincere.

According to the Forest City, NC town manager - where the event took place, the Santa who made the mean remark has since resigned.
