A bomb threat led to an evacuation at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Monroe, CT early Wednesday morning.

The bomb threat was called in around 9:30 am Wednesday, and the school was evacuated immediately as a precaution. According to authorities, the building and grounds were checked and no evidence of danger were found.

The students were moved to neighboring school, and dismissed to their parents.

Today's threat brought up very painful memories for students and staff of the school, as well as others affected by the tragedy that happened in 2012 where a gunman killed 20 students and 6 educators.

In my opinion, this is just disgusting. Why people find it necessary to do things like this, I will never know. That whole community has been through so much already, and to have somebody pull a stunt like this is just heartless.

These kids don't deserve to have to attend school with a fear of being hurt, or worse. As a parent, it terrifies me.
