The wait is finally over for Jets fans. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is staying with Gang Green.

ESPN reports that Fitzpatrick signed a one year, $12 million dollar deal with the Jets Wednesday. The agreement ends six months of back and forth drama between the 33 year-old quarterback and the organization.

It definitely was a long process. After coming to the realization that it wasn't going to get done right away and that it was going to take some time, I tried my best to put it out of my mind and tried to live life normally. But it was hard with people coming up to me and asking about the contract, people texting me. It was hovering ... looming over my head for five, six months. In the end, I'm happy the way it turned out.

Bases on average pay per year, the deal makes Fitzpatrick 23rd among NFL quarterbacks, There's also an additional $3 million that could be his with team incentives, if Fitzpatrick can take the Jets deep into the playoffs.

Fitzpatrick threw 335 completions for 3905 yards and 31 TDs last year.

The Jets finished second in the AFC East at 10-6 in 2015. New York just missed the playoffs with a 22-17 season finale loss to Buffalo, where Fitzpatrick threw three fourth quarter interceptions.
