One of the Hudson Valley's largest garbage collecting companies just got a little bigger. Royal Carting has acquired Spartan Carting and will take over trash pickups effective immediately. Clients were notified this week via a letter in the mail.

Royal Carting will keep Spartan's lower rates in place for the next three months. Trash pickup days will remain the same and the billing cycle will change slightly.

According to representitives from Spartan, there were several factors that prompted the sale. Former Spartan customers can expect their first bill around August 5th and that invoice will cover all of July and August.

The economics of properly operating a carting business, paying all of the operating expenses and taxes, while attempting to comply with all the necesary rules and regulations compels this action on our part. Spartan's price point is significantly below what is needed to operate.

According to their website, Royal Carting began in 1955 with just a single garbage truck and has grown exponentially since.
