According to the New York Post, Esther Levy, 61, of Warwick, claims she was denied service at the Cancun Inn in Sugar Loaf over the hat she was wearing--the very identifiable red "Make America Great Again" hat--and forced to leave the restaurant.

Levy's side of the story is that a waitress came to the table, after she and an acquaintance had ordered sangria, and told that the owners had told the waitress that she was not to serve Levy.

Levy told the Post:

“On the way out, the co-owner decided to yell at me and humiliate me,” Levy recalled. “He said, ‘We don’t serve Trump supporters here. Get out of here and never come back.’ ”

For their part, the Cancun Inn (after receiving quite the battering via social media) issued a statement on Facebook:

Levy claims that she has been a customer at the establishment for 25 years.
