It is time once again to celebrate our favorite local independent record stores.  It's Record Store Day 2016 tomorrow, and boy oh boy, are there a lot of cool releases to look forward to. Especially in the classic rock genre.

Record Store Day started 2007  as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding nearly 1400 independently owned record stores in the US and thousands of similar stores internationally. Get more information on the organization at recordstoreday.com.

This time around we will see releases from David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Kinks, Tom Petty, The Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan, Jethro Tull, and a whole lot more.  The question is, with so many to choose from, which will you buy?

Locally, you can celebrate Record Store Day at Darkside Records on Dutchess Turnpike in Poughkeepsie.  Darkside will of course have the exclusive Record Store Day titles, as well as giveaways, live music, food trucks, performers, charity fundraising, and more. Get all the latest news and event details by going to darksiderecordsandgallery.com.  Or better yet, stop by the store tomorrow.  Doors open at 9am and the party goes on all day.
