A professional baseball team is leaving the Hudson Valley after an embarrassing amount of people came out to watch.

The Newburgh Newts have announced that they will no longer be playing games at Delano-Hitch Stadium. After beginning their season less than a month ago, it's clear that not many are interested in watching.

Time Warner Cable News reports that the Newts handed out over 1,000 free tickets for their Community Appreciation Night. However, at game time the 3,100 seat stadium had only 20 spectators... and at least half of them were parents of the players.

That lack of support has caused the Newts to leave Newburgh. They do say, however, that the season is far from over for them. The team plans to continue to play somewhere else and keep the newly formed North County Baseball League going.
