In an effort to dredge up ratings, the Discovery Channel is apparently planning to film a wildlife filmmaker getting swallowed alive by a giant anaconda. Yes, you heard that right. The scene is set to air December 7th for a new TV show called Eaten Alive. Paul Rosolie says he'll suit up in a specially built, custom snake-proof suit and film the entire encounter. The 26 year old film maker will also be equipped with a rope-like device to presumably pull himself out of the snake's stomach. If you think this sounds dangerously absurd then you're certainly not alone.  Animal activists are already attacking the show as cruel.

But is any of this for real? The logistics just aren't adding up here. Even with the protective suit, how does Rosolie avoid being crushed to death in the snake's grip? How would he get out without harming either himself or the snake? Would the snake even want to feed the day of filming? Could an anaconda even swallow a fully grown human adult anyways? And yeah, this is from the same network that's resorted to giving us such so-called 'documentaries' on the search for the Megalodon as well as the Yeti. This has to be a joke....right? Sad to see a once cool and educational network resort to stuff like this.
